  • Just purchased some new products

I just placed an order for some new detailing supplies. I would like to have your opinion on the product I just purchased. Is this a good start for my detailing job? My car is a 2005 Acura RSX Type S black color.

The condition of my paint is starting to be bad. I have alot of small scratches and swirl marks along with some halograms.

    -Set of 3 polishing pad
    -#80 Speed Glaze
    -#83 Dual action cleaner/polish
-#26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax (Carnauba wax)
    -Quick clay detailing system

With the two polishing pads I have I plan to use one polishing pad for #80 and if that doesn't do the job I will use the other polishing pad with #83. Is this the correct way to do it?

Last I will use the finishing pad with a machine glaze (Meguair #3) and wax with #26 by hand.

Will this process work? Am I missing anything? Can I apply NXT tech wax first as my sealer then apply #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax after?

Yes, try #80 with a 8006 polishing pad first, then if it doesnt work, go to the #83 with the 8006 polishing pad.

I am not sure if #3 is the best product to use as a polish, as far as getting the best looks. I think it has been reformulated for use with the DA, but I am still not certain it is what I would pick as the best.

I think #7 applied by hand would be much better, then #26 applied with the finishing pad. But that is just me.

You can certainly apply a coat of Nxt, followed by a coat of #26.

    How are you removing products?

Meguiar's #3 Machine Glaze is a pure polish just like #7, but was designed for machine application. With that said, it has always been able to be applied by Rotary, DA, orbital, or by hand. Some have found that it works very well by hand. True, #7 does have more TS Oils in it. But the #3 does an amazing job, especially with a buffer whether DA or rotary.

As for the products, you have chosen some really excellent ones!!

        Thanks for the replies.

As for removing the products I am using a microfiber towel to remove the wax or polish that is on the car.

But before I start the detail process I will be using Dawn to strip the old wax and clay bar my whole car.

          NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

          Do not use DAWN

The #80 and #83 (Which are Paint Cleaner), and claying will remove anything that was on there before..

          DONT USE DAWN...

            Yeah, dont use Dawn, etc.

Like with your hands, it will also pull the oils out of the paint, plastic, rubber, etc.

You can always polish, and dress, and re-lubricate things, etc, to ty and make up for it, but that doesnt mean it is a good idea.

While washing one time with Dawn wont make the car fall apart, why take a step backwards, and a step forwards. Only take steps forwards.
