  • NXT Tech Wax dry time

The directions say to coat your entire car with the wax. And I know it takes anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes to set up - depending on the conditions.

What's the maximum length of time you could leave it to dry on the car before removing it?

I know some on here leave it on for 24hrs.

How to tell when a Meguiar's wax is ready to remove - The Swipe Test

wow if you left it for 24 hours it would be a pain to remove!! i think that 24hours is the cure time where you don't want to expose the finish to any water/qd

        Thanks for the feedback.

I'm familiar with the 'Swipe Test'... I'm wondering what the limits of dry time are that you wouldn't want to exceed...

I don't see ANY reason leaving a wax on past the swipe test showing it's time to remove.

There doesnt seem to be any benefit to it.

However, I think Mike has left wax on his car a day or so out in California just to see what happens, and it never hurt anything.

Remember to get it off of trim right away though.

I usually wax the whole car, then work on cleaning, waxing the wheels and inside of the mudguards, and exhaust tips, by the time Im done with all those nooks and crannies the car is ready!

By 'trim' I assume you're meaning rubber gaskets around windows? Anything else NXT wax shouldn't touch?

Anything non painted (ie plastic trim, Black bumper, or a no painted door guard). Look at the picture on the bottle of Trim Detailer for examples.
