  • Using the G100 to remove NXT

Anyone else finding it difficult to remove NXT using the G100 ?

The wax was dry and passed the "Swipe" test and was easy to remove by hand.

PC w/7006 and Microfiber Bonnet to polish off wax at speed 3

One concern was that when I bump the speed up to 4, I may be removing more wax than I should be and not leaving as much protection behind. Is this a valid concern ?

Your comments, thoughts and help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rick

I have found it very easy to remove with a PC once the bonnet gets a build up it tends to slow removal. Never experienced any problems. Could it have been applied to thick?

Try using a speed setting of "5" when removing wax haze. As long as you don't keep going over and over the same spot it will not remove the wax protection. That is the speed recommended by Mike IIRC. Also, once the bonnet gets wax build up you can turn it inside out and use the other side. Just remember to remove that tag.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think you want to use speed 5 to remove the dried wax. As long as the wax is dried, and it passed the swipe test, you are good to go. You will not be removing any protection. Just make sure to use a very thin coat of wax and apply it in two separate coats at least 12 hours apart. I have had great success with that method on my cars, one silver and one black.
