Just had my car repainted last April, it is now starting to get some swirls even though I try my best to take care of it. I just purchased the G100 at SEMA to get rid of some swirls but after reading some threads here it worries me some that the new paint will be too hard for the g100. the swirls are not very deep at all and aren't all over the car. mostly on the trunk and wing is where its worst. I have always waxed by hand with the pro swirl remover and pro yellow wax. When I got the DA polisher I also got speed glaze, paint cleaner and the NXT tech wax. Can someone adv the best way to attempt to remove swirls on my car. Thanks in advance.

Hi vispreludevtec,
Welcome to Meguiar's Online!
Can you take a digital picture of your car and also of the swirls you're trying to remove and post them to the forum?
As far as removing them goes, I tell my son this all the time,
"You never know what you can do until you try"
By this I mean you don't really know if you car's paint is hard or soft or somewhere in-between until --> you <-- go out into your garage and play around with it and see what it's going to take to remove the defects and restore a swirl free finish.
More in a second...

Suggested Products for Taking Care of a New Car
I just purchased the G100 at SEMA to get rid of some swirls but after reading some threads here it worries me some that the new paint will be too hard for the G100. the swirls are not very deep at all and aren't all over the car. mostly on the trunk and wing is where its worst.
"Always use the least aggressive product to get the job done"
If you want to follow this philosophy, then try the below in the order I list the procedures and after you find the combination of products and pads that removes the defects then repeat this over the entire car.
W-9006/M09/G100 SS - 4.5 to 5.0
W-8006/M09/G100 SS - 4.5 5.0
W-8006/M80/G100 SS -4.5 5.0
W-8006/M83/G100 SS -4.5 5.0
Chances are good one of the top 3 combinations are going to remove the swirls and restore a swirl-free finish. After removing the swirls and wiping off any excess leftover residue, switch over to a W-9006 tan finishing pad, turn your speed setting down to 3.0 and apply your choice of wax over the entire finish. Allow the wax to dry until it swipes clear and then remove.

M80 i believe is the speed glaze, I have tried that when I got home from the show and it only helped a little. Problem is I don't think I applied enough pressure and had it on 3 - 3.5 speed. Best bet would be to tape off an area and try the speed glaze with faster speed and more pressure...if that doesn't work then try the dual action? Thanks alot for all your help

The swirls in the picture you've included look pretty light and should polish right out, the most important thing is to take your time and move slow with the polisher, don't try to tackle to big of an area at one time.
Then apply a couple of coats of wax and you'll get results that make your car's paint look glistening!

They run the polisher at too slow of a speed
They don't use enough pressure
They move the polisher too quickly over the surface
and they try to work to large of a section at one time
Try running the polisher on the 5.0 setting
Apply around 15 pounds of pressure
Move the polisher slowly over the panel
Only work a section about half the size of our Supreme Shine Microfiber polishing cloth or about a foot squared, (like the size of a large wash rag)
Hope this helps...

No, the only paint care product in Meguiar's line that you ever let dry our are waxes, everything else is a wipe-on, work-in, wipe-off type product.
I wrote this article just to cover this topic,
Which products need to dry before removing?
When it comes to paint care, often times we'll have members post to our forum, which products and procedures they're using to detail their car. In the process they'll mention how long they let products like ScratchX, or Deep Crystal Polish, or #7 Show Car Glaze, or M80 Speed Glaze dry before they removed it.
A common question that comes up often on our forum and over at our Customer Care Hotline is,- "How long should I let a paint cleaner dry?"
or
"How long should I let a polish dry?"
This is a common mistake and/or misconception about these non-wax products, or in other words product meant to leave protection behind on the finish after removal. With this article, we hope to shed some light on this topic and clear up any confusion there may be on which products need to dry before removing them from the paint.
When working inside the Meguiar's line of product, whether that's our Consumer Line, our Professional Line, or even our Mold Release Line, the only products that need to dry, and the only products you should allow to dry are our waxes.
All other products are formulated and meant to be applied, worked-in and then removed immediately afterwards. This would include,- * Compounds
* Paint Cleaners
* Cleaner/Polishes
* Pure Polishes
All Meguiar's waxes should be applied, worked-in and then allowed to dry until they pass the Swipe Test.
This would include all Meguiar's paste waxes, liquid waxes and even our spray-on waxes.
We hope this helps...
