  • Paging Mike Phillips...

He Mike, whats out there that I can use by hand to remove some very slight/fine overspray from rattle can paint on a black clear coat surface?

Not looking to remove scratches/swirls etc as there are none...just something to soften the dry enamel overspray.
    Thanks

Have you tried detailing clay? This is usually what's used to remove overspray paint.

No as I figured that can sometimes cause fine scratches etc. Anything else ya got?

As mentioned the surface is/was perfect...but silly me went a sprayed some rattle can pant into the lid for a brush touch up on something, and the wind caught it and deposited it on my rear deck lid and few other areas.
      And yes it's dry..

The problem here is that you have to touch the paint, this creates the potential for instilling scratches into the paint with whatever you're touching the paint with.

You might try a product like Goo-Gone? Perhaps this will dissolve and loosen the overspray with affecting the finish on the car, but you're back to touching the finish because you're going to have apply and wipe the Goo-Gone off.

Another option would be gently polishing with Deep Crystal Paint cleaner.

            The Clay Worked...Perfectly!

Just wanted to say your suggestion was dead nuts on...when somethig works as suggested I give it total praise, as I do with M21.
The Meguiars Clay system delivered...it fully and EASLY removed all the light overspray on my 06 black Toyota. There were a few very-very small scratches from the clay however, they came out with ease by hand and microfine compound.
            All in all...worked great!

It was actually fun to use as well.
