  • DC2 on glass?

    Hello everyone!

I've been detailing my beloved Mustang this weekend and during the DC2 stage, I accidentally dribbled some on a corner of the windshield. I quickly wiped it off and saw that water spots that I had planned on removed later were gone. My question to you is DC2 safe to use on glass?

    Cheers,
    Jon

Sure is, but never on the windshield.

I am sure it would not hurt the glass. I have been known to run several of the cleaner polishes out of the 80 series across my glass on purpose.

I have to detail outside on a do what I can, when I can basis. Sometimes I can't even run a polish over my entire truck in a single day. I have to do the horizontals one day and the verticals the next. As my time is rather limited, I don't mask off.

So I tend to get a little sling/splatter on my windows. I find that as long as my windows were reasonably clean to start with, I can run the DA over the windows with whatever polish I had been using on the paint. Keep in mind I am not trying to work scratches out but I am trying to remove splatter as well as hopefully working down the infrequent water mark or what ever.

Stay well clear of those rubber seals though. If you get into the habit of doing this and keep hitting those you will likely puts some mark on them over time.

        Hi Jon,

Deep Crystal Polish isn't going to harm glass in any way as it's a pure polish and non-abrasive. If you have really tough water stains, spots or mineral deposits there are products that will remove these easier and faster from the glass.

        A couple of curiosity questions...

Were these water spots bad? as is tough, built-up hard to remove deposits that had been there a long time?

Did you simply wipe the DCP off or did you aggressively work the product against the glass as in cleaning it and then wipe it off?

Are the spots really gone? Examine the are very closely to be sure they didn't just kind of disappear and are really still on the glass at least at some level.
