Hey my first post to the board!! Just spending time here has made me car crazy. My first retoration was an 1986 Volvo 740 that was neglected (my bad). In ordr I went Clay Bar, #9 2.0 Swirl Remover, #7 Show Car Glaze and finally Gold Class Liquid Wax. As this was my first experience I used our beater before starting on our 2002 Volvo V70. Before starting the V70 I called the 1-800 help desk (should have done this before the other car, more my bad). Tim thought what I had done sounded good, but recommended the NXT over the GC. I have almost finished the V70 and am very impressed with the NXT. I tried the second coat test on the hood and could see a definite improvement on the side with the second coat of NXT. I think the 740 looks pretty good too, but now would like to re-do the wax with NXT. Also in hindsight I don't know how good the GC was as it has been frozen which I read on the forum after the fact is a no-no. What should I do to put the NXT over the GC? I am thinking that if the GC has been frozen it may not let the NXT perform to it's fullest as evidenced by my side by side test on the other car. Thanks in advance for your help, before I found this forum I never realized how many things I have done wrong over the years, and how much I can do myself with a premium product like Meguiars.

Doing stuff yourself is always the best, and most fun....
If you think the Gold Class isnt working/looking quite right, then you would probably want to remove it. That would mean starting over with the #9 and #7, then Nxt.
Keep in mind Nxt is very durable, but you will probably want to use a product like the Nxt Spray Wax, or the Nxt Detailer to keep it looking its best after most washes.
I am sure you have seen the 5-Step System link by now a 100 times. Just in case you didnt see this link, it is a good read, esp the Grit Guards for your buckets, which are very very worthwhile...
