  • Clay Bar....What do you do?

Do you guys clay the entire car or just the horizontal surfaces (Hood,Roof and Decklid)?

Currently I clay the entire vehicle, but heard that it is not nessesary to clay the doors.

I evaluate the entire surface and then determine whether to clay the whole car....I've only clayed entire cars because when it comes right down to it, if the horizontal surfaces need it, I do the whole thing....just my opinion...

In theory, hoizontal surface will have more stuff land on themand stick to them than vertical surface will, so some people will skip doing doors/fenders sometimes.

But for the extra few minutes it takes, I just do the whole thing. I certainly have enough splashes, etc that show stuff landed on my doors as well.

I only do the horizontal surfaces. But it depends on the car and conditions.

My car is only a year old, is kept in the garage at night and I wash every week and clay at least once a month, more often if necessary. I don't think the condition of my car warrants claying beyond just the horizontal surfaces.
