Water Blade Advice?

I know I've seen some of you guys here that use these things, but they give me the creeps. Unfortunately, I'm aquatically retarded and can't seem to use the method everyone's described for sheeting water off of the car for less standing water.

Is there a suggested blade, and if so, is there a proscribed method of it's use? It's just a little scary dragging something across the finish of my car

Yeah, I dunno if it is water pressure, or hose trype, but the remove the nozzle idea does nothing for me. I actualy play with the spiggot and nozzle until I get a nice low flow, not a spray. That gets most of it.

But even on a bad day, or 'low wax left' day, I still might get a good bit of water. I just use extra Water Magents if neded, instead of dragging a blade across.

Well they really work, I have the california Water blade but:
1. You must wash your car really well it only takes a little dirt to be trapped between the blade and your paint and you'll have scratches.
2. If you wax your car frequently the water blade only works in horizontal surfaces because the blade needs the surface to be really wet to work properly.
3. Even if the surface is really wet it mades a squek sound that most people don't like but if the surface is clean it doesn't scratch your paint.

Those are drying towels, right? I try to use all the Megs stuff I can get my hands on, but there's still alot that are only available by shipping methods. Unfortunately, I always forget I need them until the last minute and don't have time to order them!

Yeah, those are the Meguiars Water Magnet Towels.

I seem to keep getting more for some reason... I need like 2 to dry the car normaly, or maybe 3 or so on a humid day, or when there is little wax.

But I got a bunch last fall when Advanced Auto had a big sale on them, and then a few more from the ADS microfiber sale. Must have a least 8 of them just packed away, and then 5 or 6 that I actualy use.

I use the waterblade on canvas tops/windows etc. Not on paint.

The one I had is now in the bathroom to do the shower wall after showering, really good tool for that job. Works great on the steam on the mirror too.

I've used the CA water blade for about 3 years now w/ no issues. Cuts drying time in half for me. I just grasp the handle firmly and slide the blade gently over the paint. People often bring up the argument that a piece of trapped dirt may cause a scratch, but isn't that also true for a drying towel or even the wash sponge? I would actually argue that drying w/ the blade may actually be safer, assuming you regulary wipe the blade to make sure nothing is on there.
