  • New Used car :)

I just bought a 2003 BMW 330 Ci convertible. The car dealer I got the car from was a well known lexus dealer and they detailed the car what I think was great! The paint has a great shine and there are no swirl marks or blemishes on the paint that I can tell.

I am wondering what products are recommended for maintaining and protecting my car from the sun in south florida. I enjoy cleaning my car but I dont have all weekend to devote to cleaning it. I can afford to spend 2 hrs or so on cleaning.

I am wondering what products are recommended for washing and waxing as well as interior and tires.

    Thanks

            Well, great minds think alike...

I am sure we are going to answer this next quetion as well.. but here goes..

ColorX is a cleaner/polish/wax is one step. It is about medium strength, generaly speaking, and contains some diminishing abrasives in order to help remove swirls, oxidation.

The regular cleaner/wax in the red bottle is a very mild cleaner in comparison.

You can either use ColorX on its own, or my favorite for quick details, ColorX topped with #21 Synthetic Sealant.

ColorX is a cleaner/wax, that is it cleans, polishes and protects. It's also a wonderful product that people absolutely rave about all of the time, plus it's easy to find, works on anything and very easy to use.

Even though it's a strong cleaner/wax, you can still use it on a daily driver in great shape because it's not the kind of strong that is going to remove all of your paint. Besides that, part of the cleaning action of any product is -->you<--.

Apply a cleaner/wax thoroughly with passion and get extra cleaning action, apply a cleaner/wax gently and get less cleaning action.

Cleaner waxes are great for daily drivers that are parked outside because cars parked outside are exposed to dirt and other contaminants and the paint gets dirty over time. Cleaner/waxes clean this accumulated dirt of the paint and -->maintain<-- you new car look.

Hate to be a pain...I was on the Meguiars site and searched for #21 Synthetic Sealant...no dice...

what is the exact product name?

The only thing that comes up is a 64 ounce jug of sealant.

                  Thanks

                      Yup.. thats the one...

                      #21 Synthetic Sealant

At the moment, in only comes in the X-large size.

However, if you are planning to put an order together, and be buying a few products, towels, etc, you will want to look at autodetailingsolutions.com. They have good prices, and actualy sell sample sizes of many products, including a 12oz #21.
