  • ? about #39 & #40 with Foam Applicator Bottle

I've got some trim on my wifes Expedition that I want to give a good cleaning to...built up wax, dirt, ect. I have the #39 and #40 which I am going to use to get the job done. My only complaint is the spray gets it all over the surrounding area, when all I want is some on the trim around the windows. I have seen foam applicator bottles, like liquid boot wax comes in, that looks like it might work well. Anyone know where I could find an empty one or have advice on a better way to get the job done?

    Thanks!

Seems someone mentioned a similar bottle sometime back but not sure if it ever worked out or where they found the bottle.

You might also try some High-Tech Applicator Pads, I use these for just about everything. They are inexpensive, easy to find and can be washed and reused if needed. Spray a little product on the pad and apply. I then like to let the product set for a few min and follow up with Microfiber towel or 100% cotton towel to remove the excess.

      Hi Dave,

With either product, I would not spray directly on to the surface. Instead, for the #39, I like to use a dedicated microfiber towel. I spray it on to the towel and they wipe thoroughly over the surface.

For the #40, I use a foam applicator. Apply the spray to the foam applicator, wipe on the surface. Allow 5-7 minutes, then wipe off with another dedicated MF towel. This will create a beautiful uniform sheen!!

I have never used a foam appliactor bottle, but I would imagine it would work, with of course, you still have to wipe down the surface the same as above.

To be honest, try it with the foam applicator for #40 and I am sure you will be very satisfied!!

Thanks guys! I have a bunch of the pads and will give those a try. I was just looking for something that would give me a nice edge so I can keep the product off the paint.
