  • Need help with #2

I washed, clayed, then washed again and began applying #2 with the PC and a 8006 pad. I followed the technique decribed in the "how to remove swirls" thread and after doing the side panel it appears that there is some smudging/hazing. What could this be from? Some quick replies would be great, thank you!

Are you working the product to long?

You don't want to buff to a dry buff, there should always be a wet film on the car when you're finished buffing. Also, if you rebuff a panel, make sure you wipe all the previous product off first.

You can always spray some quick detailer onto the panel to help you get it off.

I can't add much more as I just finished our Saturday detailing class and I'm going to close down the garage and head home which is about 100 miles away in bad traffic. I'll check this thread when I get home and get back online however.

Thanks Mike, I went over the car with some quick detailer and I think it worked. I'll see what it looks like in the morning when the sun comes back out!

        Hey,

I think what you may be seeing is slight hazzing from the #2. I would follow the #2 with #82 Swirl Free Polish or #9 Swirl Remover with a clean W-8006 Polishing pad. I have a feeling that will take care of it!
