I'm just confused about layering nxt.

I usually use 2 coats of nxt then the following weak layer it with #16 for the winter

but summer I stick with nxt but I hear mix thoughts on should I layer nxt.

What if I use it every 2 weeks is that just a waste of the product?

Megs recommends 2 coats of any finisher to ensure good coverage so that is OK. The NXT has a cleaner so that is really all multiple coats will do for you is cover it good, it won't really layer up.

Just to note... in the last year or so, the guys that manage www.meguiars.com revamped all the pages on the website to update them and optimize them, while this was necessary for a number of different reasons, the end result was a lot of links on this forum now go nowhere.


As far as layering NXT, or any paint protection product for that matter, the truth is after 2-3 applications, you will have hit a plateau in which any further applications are more likely to layer someone's bank account, not the total film-build of product on the surface of an automotive finish.

My question now is, I waxed my 2 year old car twice last weekend. Now if I wax it again today is there value in doing that. It rained yesterday so its slightly dirty but I dont mind washing the car and waxing it again, but will nxt cleaners remove some of the initial wax I did.
