  • .: Need some PRO tips... [pearl white]

    Hi there!

My very first post here...hope ya can help me out.

Here's my car...'97 VW Parati GLS.

This is a "pearl" colour...named "Nacar White". Considering it's a 9-year-paint, I can say it's in good condition.

However, I'd like to hear from you. Tell me if this is the right order and lemme know what I should know...

    1) Wash
    3) Clay Bar (Smooth Surface Clay Kit)
    3) Mequiars NXT Wax

Want to make it shine a lot (even more) !!!

You will really love the difference claying can make. But if you want to do your best, you will need a couple more steps. Give these a read over, then ask away some more:

    Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle

    Step 1 Wash

    Step 2 Clean

    Step 3 Polish

    Step 4 Protect

    Step 5 Maintain

So...would this be a good start?!

        1) Wash
        3) Smooth Surface Clay Kit
        3) NXT Generationâ„¢ Tech Wax Paste

Is NXT Generationâ„¢ Tech Wax Paste good for shine/gloss or for protecting?!

First question is: Are you doing this all by hand or do you have a G100?

NXT is a protectant, but provides a good amount of gloss. However, the end result is 90-95% prep work. If you wash, clay, polish, protect the results should be even better. I'm a little short on hand applied product recommendations, but the above links describe all that. With a G100 I'd do:

          1) Wash with NXT or Gold Class
          2) Clay
          3) Polish with M80 or other suitable product
          4) Seal with 2 coats of NXT
          5) Maintain with your favorite detail spray (Final Inspection, Quik Detailer, Last Touch, etc.)

            I'd do it by hand...

Not sure if the full line of products is available for you, but here would be my choices, so you cover all 5 steps:

              1. Wash - Nxt / Gold Class

              NXT Generation Car Wash

Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner

              2. Clay - Quick CLay, Smooth Surface Clay

              Quik Clay System

              3. Clean - I dont see many swirls in pic, so Deep Crystal System (DC) #1 should be good. If you do have swirls to fix, you would need a product like ScratchX.

              Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner

              ScratchX

              4. Polish - Either DC#2 or #7 from the Professional Line. #2 would be the easier to apply, but #7 will look a bit better once you get the hang of it.

              Deep Crystal Polish

              M-07 Show Car Glaze

              5. Wax - Nxt wax is good, but I really like #21 Synthetic Sealant these days, if it is available for you. Remember, 2 thin coats of any wax is best.

              NXT Generation Tech Wax

              #21 Synthetic Sealant

I am not sure if you are thinking of just the wash/clay/wax because you are short on time? If so, this would be a better system:

              1. Wash - as above

              2. Clay - as above

              3. Clean/polish/wax - ColorX / Color Boost. This is a great one step product. I love it for quicker details.

              ColorX

              4. Wax - One coat of Nxt or #21 will top the ColorX nicely.

              Hope this helps some.

Or just starts all new questions......

Wow! I really appreciate your support!

                I'll keep boring ya...

                4. Polish - Either DC#2 or #7 from the Professional Line. #2 would be the easier to apply, but #7 will look a bit better once you get the hang of it.
Should I use BOTH Deep Crystal Polish AND M-07 Show Car Glaze ( Show Car Glaze outshines all other hand applied polishes, glazes...?!

Well, you can if you want.. But you just need one or the other.

DC#2 is very easy to apply and remove, and looks pretty darn good.

#7 looks just that little bit better, but you have to get a feel for it.
