If time and effort was not a factor, and your hands and a D/A was the only two options, what is the best way to apply #7 and other pure polishes? By hand or by D/A? If by D/A which pad and what speed? If by hand, do I really work it in or rub it on gingerly?

Most ideal way to apply #7

Hi paranoid123,
I'm just out of a meeting and headed into another one and then the rest of the evening is scheduled for product testing in Meguiar's Garage, but real quick...
#7 Show Car Glaze is a pure polish intended only for new finishes or finishes in like new condition, this means pre-cleaned so the finish is clean, smooth and ready for polishing or waxing.
After that, it's just a matter of applying a thin coat of polish to the finish, work it in gently like you would a hand lotion to your face or skin, and then move onto a new section.
Typically, you would apply and remove this product one section at a time as the product does not need to dry. Some people, myself for example, prefer to apply this product to the entire finish at one time and then remove it.
The point is, the benefit from the product is from introducing it to the paint, working it in, and then removing it.
After this you would then apply a coat of wax.
As far as machine versus hand application goes, it's a pretty easy product to apply by hand and it doesn't take much to go over the entire finish. Machine application of just about any product is always going to be easier and almost always do a better job than your hand will do. So it's kind of your preference.

#7
I HAVE HAD GREAT RESULTS USEING MF EVEN COAT APPLICATOR TO APPLY #7. I APPLY TO THE ENTIRE CAR THEN WIPE WITH MEGS TERRY TOWEL. IT GOES ON VERY EASY AND COMES OFF VERY EASY THIS WAY. I HAVE ALSO USED DA POLISHER AND FOUND IT MUCH HARDER TO REMOVE. HOPE THIS HELPS.

I use a black LC pad on the PC. Using a slow speed and barely any pressure just the machines weight I manage to do the whole car and when I am done it's about time to start taking it off. I find that using the PC to do this applies a thin coat which covers better and makes it easier to remove. Anyone who has ever applied #7 too thick or left it on too long will tell you how much of a pain it is to remove. As you make a living, don't forget to live.
