This could well be the source of your problem. By introducing a QD to the polish, you've now changed the chemical properties of M80.
Without knowing the chemistry involved in the products, I can only theorize what happens when the products are combined.
Think of how a QD works and wipes off, especially if you use too much of it or don't wipe thoroughly enough. Add this problem in concentration to the M80 and I see this causing problems with both the abrasives working and the lubricity of the product.
The QD might make some of the polishing oils in M80 "flash", removing some of the lubricity needed to remove the remaining product. Now, it's tough to wipe.
