    This could well be the source of your problem. By introducing a QD to the polish, you've now changed the chemical properties of M80.

    Without knowing the chemistry involved in the products, I can only theorize what happens when the products are combined.

    Think of how a QD works and wipes off, especially if you use too much of it or don't wipe thoroughly enough. Add this problem in concentration to the M80 and I see this causing problems with both the abrasives working and the lubricity of the product.

    The QD might make some of the polishing oils in M80 "flash", removing some of the lubricity needed to remove the remaining product. Now, it's tough to wipe.

      Hmmmm....thanks. I thought it was common to give a pad a quick shot of QD before applying polish or wax. I only did this before I I ever touched the car. I did not spray the pad with QD every time I moved to a new section. Regardless, I will take that part out of my process.

        Some people do it, but I always thought it would dilute the process. Some advocate a sprtiz of water or Final Inspection on a brand new pad to assist break-in, but I'd still avoid that on M80 and a W8006. Especially when having problems, eliminate all the variables.

        If a product ever wads/gums on the surface, I will use a bit of Final Inspection or even just water to soften the blob for removal. I spray directly on the surface, however.

        Let us know if that changes anything-maybe that's just the variable to make it work for you.

          Try buffing it for a little less time and wipe it off and see how it looks.

          I've found on some cars that you can't work the M80 too long or it will leave marks. Mostly soft/scratch sensitive paints. When you get close to dry buffing you lose the film from the M80 and the PAD is what is making the marks, in my case anyways. Also switching to a finishing pad (W9006) for the final buff might help.

          I use Final Inspection when it's hot & humid to keep the product from drying too quickly and have had no problems thus far.

          Just a side note it's best not to do this in the sun.
