Hello,
Just one week ago, I tried to remove some swirls from my almost newly painted car with #80 and a 8006 pad and it made no improvement at all. I confirmed that it is not my technique but rather that the paint is very hard.
Here is my question:
People say you need BOTH a PC and a Rotary Buffer since you need the PC for the last steps after using the Rotary. However, I don't understand this, because #80 is considered a finishing product since it is not very aggressive, yet it didn't do anything for my paint with the PC. I only apply my LSPs by hand, so my question is, why should I keep the PC? I don't see any real reason to do so. I know a Rotary can put swirls into the paint, but I don't see how it would do this if I am using a 9006 finishing pad and a very mild product.
Can someone please clarify some of this for me. I am very confused at the moment.
Thanks.
