How can you tell if your older car has dull, oxidized paint?

it will be dull and chalky, depending on the original color it will be a lighter shade such as red would be a pinkish color.
Post a picture and we will tell you

Here is a good pic of oxidized paint, the drivers side is oxidized, passengers side has been restored.

Oxidation is my next big job to tackle on a friend's teal '97 Dodge Ram 1500. Its been neglected and the spot I worked on with clay and the #83 was still a bit rough, but shiny, and with tell tale spots of oxidation. Anything I can do with the PC or should these be taken to a professional?
