  • What goes in with a Rotary must come out with a Rotary?

I "was told" this today and was wondering if you fellows have found this to be true.

In other words, if swirls/buffer tracks are put in with a Rotary, they pretty much need to removed with a Rotary--that a DA won't handle it?

    Not true.

Just to add to Joe's reply....

In my opinion, it depends on the hardness of the paint. On most paint, I have had great success removing buffer holograms using just a DA.

But I have also ran into some where a DA would not touch the damage and a rotary was needed to fix it.

So I guess that my answer is still that it depends.

Perhaps this "old saying" comes from the thought that a rotary, in unskilled hands, can do a lot of damage that is not within the DA's capability to remedy.
