  • Query regarding #16

    Hi all,

I received my can of #16 wax, is it supposed to be one big think lump of hard wax (like a candle)?

I was expecting a greasy consistency, not a solid lump of wax, is this supposed to be like this?

Do I create heat/friction with the foam applicator pad to load the pad with wax.

Any tips on using #16 will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for being a complete newb.

    Thanks

    to the forum.

Yup, it;s a solid hunk of wax. You have it right about liquifying with a pad. Apply very thin coats for best results. That tin will last you for several years.

Love #16's shine and durability. It also beads water like crazy

The only thing I would add is that it is best to apply to one or two panels and then go back and wipe it off. If you do the whole car and then go wipe it off you may get quite the workout

This is the number one tip I would give for using #16. THIN coats....as thin as possible.

I also do a panel or two at a time and then remove. IF you have a small vehicle you could probably do the entire car if your quick. If it's really warm out i usually use the wipe on/wipe off method.
