Guys I need help some bozo decided to vandalize a couple of cars in my brothers neighborhood. A total of four cars were hit and the damage was done by some type of Permanent Ink marker kinda like a large sharpie. My brothers Range Rover has a mark about the lenth of the car and with black ink. I tried to use wax to remove it but it did not help. Is there anything I can use to remove what seems a super permanent mark on his car. I was thinking nail polish remover but don't want to ruin his finish. What if anything can remove this spot off his car and the worst thing is his car is white so the black thick marker sits out like a sore thumb. He is really bummed out that someone would do something like that .....any help

my best guess would be
try clay first
if you have no luck
then try DC1
if you stull have no luck
then try scratchX
i am not sure even after all these products that it can be removed but good luck! (i have never had to remove sharpie before)Patrick Yu

Re: Brother car vandalised
I'd recommend using our Quik Clay Detailing System, Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, Body Scub (if available), or Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner (if available) and a lot of elbow grease to remove the marker stain. I've used it myself on a finish that was spray painted (graffiti).

I'm sure one of the above will work.
What I've used to get off Sharpie on other types of surfaces.
Motsenbacker's Ink/Pen/Marker Remover (they also have grafitti remover and a lot of other forumulas. I have ALL of them for doing laundry).
And for those of you familiar with white boards...we have the high quality enameled metal white boards. I came back from an absence one to find a sub had used a permanent marker on the boards (despite the fact I had left ALL of the dry erase markers right on the chalk rail.) To get off...you just go over the permanent marker with a dry erase marker and then wipe it off immediately with a cloth. Then you use dry erase cleaner or watered alcohol to remove the residue.
I'm not sure I'd recommend either of those method on car paint without testing it in an inconspicuous place first. It's not just chocolate, it's a lifestyle.

Well I try some of these when I visit him. The worst hit was a brand new BMW 5 that has marks of profanity on all sides. My brothers car looks like someone ran around the car holding the marker on the paint. I noticed today someone also stole his POW-MIA flag from his porch seems lately some local kids have nothing better to do. What really is sad is the Range is usually parked inside but the one day he parked outside it was vandalised. The are he lives in is upper class ( Homes around 600k ^ ) so this is rare for the area. Either way thanks for the help guys..2005 MACHINE SILVER C6 CORVETTE - 2006 POLAR WHITE SCION XB - 2003 LEMANS SUNSET NISSAN 350Z

I have used scratch-x to remove green spray paint from a silver car. I used a terry cloth applicator pad. And a lot of elbow grease.
Hope this helps.
