  • When is it safe to QD?

I live in Memphis which is incredibly dusty and the pollen flows freely. After a rain, all kinds of garbage are kicked up on my car even when it's just sat parked over night. Is it safe to use QD on the car when it's covered like that and, if so, what kind of sponge or cloth should I use? Do I get the sponge or the car wet?

    Thanks

I think if you can use the word 'garbage' to decribe the stuff on the car, than it is probably not a good time to QD.

QD is best at removing light dust, and bird droppings, and even after a rain to stop water spots.

It is probably easiest to QD with a MF towel, like the Supreme Shine, or a MF pad like the Quick Detailing Sponge.

You shouldnt have to get the car wet, just mist ome QD on sponge or surface, gently glide around, then flip over to a dry side of towel to remove excess.

I think a good rule to follow when trying to decide whether to QD or not is "If you are unsure if the stuff on the surface is light enough for a QD. Then Wash it. If you can't wash it. Leave it alone until you can."

Don't mistake my enthusiasm for experience.

This is what I've decided on, too. I've read around and this seems to be the general consensus. MAN! It's hard to keep a car clean without a garage!
