  • nxt paste wax applicator pad

    Mike,

I read the thread on "How to remove swirls by Hand." It talks about using the applicator pad, but it does not specifically say whether you should dampen the pad with a little water before applying the paste wax. The instructions on the bottom of the can do not address this either.

    Instructions please...

    Hey jdm2225,

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

I am sure Mike will chime in...but until then...

No, you do not dampen the applicator when applying the NXT Paste wax or any other wax/sealant from Meguiar's. After applying the NXT Paste Wax, allow ~ 15 minutes and perform the Swipe Test to see whether the wax is ready for removal. Here is a link to explain:

How to tell when a Meguiar's wax is ready to remove - The Swipe Test

After ther removal, it is best to allow at least overnight if possible before using a QD or even water on the finish, in order to allow the product to set up properly.

    I hope this helps!

That is correct, applying water to the pad and wax will dilute the product. Diluting the wax will definitely afffect the results.

Thanks guys for both the responses and the Welcome! Also, thanks for the info about the "swipe test."

I know the original post seemed very basic, but I've actually used products in the past that specified that their product be applied via a damp applicator.

        Thanks again!
