  • Dc1 & 2 ?

Decided to try the 3 step DC system and was wondering how long the DC1 should be rubbed in before wiping off. I may have been using excessive amounts of the product (big surprise) but DC1 seemed to turn into a mud like consistancy before it disappeared vs the DC2 virtually was gone before I wiped it off. The end results were quite good. Just wondering if I should be using less cleaner in the future.

Well, if it is the first time, and the car needed some TLC, then you will use more cleaner the first time. There isnt really a set amount of time, just like you said, working the product in till it breaks down.

The biggest thing is to keep your coats of wax nice and thin.... this will make sure they come off nice and easy.

If you want to take your results up another notch, be sure to try the Meguiars Quick Clay or Smooth Surface Clay.

      Mort,

When using products, it's always a good rule of thumb...less is more. A little bit of product goes a long way. As far as how long should you rub in the product, I usually work it in for about 30 to 45 seconds. Depending on how light or heavy the swirl marks, oxidations, ect. are you might need to reapply the applications two or even three times. Make sure you remove the product before it dries for steps one and two. For step 3 let the product dry for 15 to 20 minutes depending your location. Work in sections or two foot by two foot. To remove the product use a micro fiber towel, it's a great towel for removing product. If you have any questions please fill free to get a hold of me at your earliest convenience.

Thanks guys. I thought I might be going a little too heavy on the DC1...it just didn't look like very much on the applicator pad. I did start by washing, quick clay and then a QD wipedown. I did a few small problem areas with Scratch-X (and I thought I was tough....Scratch-X is tougher) then the whole car with the DC1, followed by DC2 then NXT Tech wax. Looks substantially better but I think the G100 machine is next up as I want to take it to the next level (Note to self....purchase many more Supreme Shine micro fiber cloths...it seems you can never have too many)
