  • What durability can I expect?

    Hello,

I wanna detail my Mini Cooper S soon. It's an everyday driver and goes around 10-15000km/year. I like to wash the car and have it clean but I am actually no fan of putting wax on it every 2 monthes and tape all the plastic again and again. So what I am looking for is something with very good durability which I only have to apply 1-2x every year. Those 1-2x can be much work, that doesnt matter. If the car is washed, taped, clayer...., then it's nice and easy to put wax/sealant on it.

So what can you recommend me to use? I know those questions have often asked before but couldnt find any answers for the durability, for how long it will actually last on my paint.

The product I used before was called "Liquid Glass" which I applied in about 4-5 layers and I did that only once a year. My bottle is empty now and I am open for new things

I would suggest #21 as an LSP. IMO it's the best Sealant I've used and holds it look for a long time. As far as how long it will last depends on the climate where you car is and what it's subjected too. I won't say I know it lasts for 6 months because I don't let my vehicles go that long without reapplying a LSP, but from my experience, after a couple of months, the water still sheets off and it still has a slick feel.

I think the key is to make sure you car is properly prepped too, since 21 doesn't have much in the way of cleaners. That would mean, wash, clay, clean/polish, and then the LSP. Two thin coats of 21, a few hours apart is best. I know they say 24 hours, but that usually doesn't work for me time wise. Hope this helps.

okay maybe i should try that too

i know it depends on the condition where the car is used. so it's actually used in all weather and stands in a garage at night.

        Hi:

For durability take a look at #16, paste wax.

I think it is still available in Europe.
