I'd recommend using our All Purpose Cleaner in our Detailer line with a cotton terry towel and patience. A cotton terry towel has more scrubbing power when it comes to cleaning grime in between the tough to reach areas like door jams .

All Purpose Cleaner is a good suggestion. If the surface is in great shape, and there is some rubber surfaces in the area too. I use M4016 or a Vinyl/ Rubber Cleaner Conditioner. Then just wipe out the door jam with clean towel.

What can be used in lieu of not having a bottle of APC? I need to clean that same area in addition to others this weekend. If I place an order today, the stuff won't get here until mid-week at the earliest.

I usually use some AIO to remove the grease that collects around the doorhings.
Usually they put too much grease on there when the car is in for service.

I use a spray bottle with NXT car wash and a soft 2" wide paint brush if the area needs scrubbing. Works like a charm and I dry the area with a cotton towel. Following the cleaning, I use QD on a paint brush.

I'll usually use APC, or just diluted car wash. I'll treat the rubber surfaces with hyperdressing applied to a cotton terry and then apply it.

I'm sure some QD would be just fine.
