hi memphisfirefighter,
if you're not sure about the hot wheels chrome cleaner, do a small test spot and go from there. here's a link to the 5 step paint care cycle that will help maintain your truck in tip-top shape. http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...&threadid=2409

The easiest thing to do is just check if they are clearcoated.
Get some metal polish, like this:
NXT Generation All Metal Polysh
..and apply it to the wheel.
If your cloth turns black, you are working on a bare surface. If the cloth stays the color of the product, it is a clearcoat.
You might be able to do this with a paint cleaner, like DC#1, if you dont have metal polish around, but I am not 100% sure.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Jeremy,
Congrats on your new truck! How awesome is it when your hard earned money pays off in such a fun way?
I agree that the best thing to do would be to find out from Ford exactly what wheels you have. However I can tell you that the product you purchased (Hot Rims Chrome Wheel Cleaner) will be safe on your wheels. Obviously if they are truly chrome you are safe. My second guess as to what they might be would be polished coated aluminum. Even in this case your are still safe. A general rule of thumb (%99 accurate) concerning wheel cleaners is, "If the wheel is factory, from the dealership/auto manufacturer, you can use any Meguiar's wheel cleaner." Aftermarket wheels are what you need to be cautious of as many are uncoated aluminum, anodized, or other much more sensative materials.
I hope this is helpful in the future. Sorry, I don't know off hand if your F150 wheels are truly chrome.Brian Hann

I agree with F150 that the more appropriate wheel cleaner assuming you have clear coated wheels would be our "Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner" although the "Hot Rims Chrome" will not harm clear coated wheelsBrian Hann
