  • Advanced Auto now Carries the Clay Kit

I think I have switched my favorite walk-in retailer today.

I went to Advanced Auto here in Southern MD and the now carry the new Clay Kits. Heck I didn't need one and still bought it.

This was the first time I have walked into a retail establishment and seen one of the Meg's kits. Usually I have to order online or buy Mother's. I see the Magic Clay kits alot but have not tried those.

They also had several of the other new products on the shelf as well. I think I found a new home.

While there the Manager was talking some kid into buying Insane Shine. I think I blew the sale for him though. Didnlt mean to. I said I used Insane Shine and loved it and also enlightened him to the fact that it was now in a trigger spray. The kid decided to hold and look for the trigger, unfortunately they did not carry that and the kid left. I have a feeling the manager will soon carry the trigger though.

I find autozone has a short stock of Meg's products. I cant find NXT Tire Cleaner, Metal Polysh, or Speed Detailer at Autozone, but I can find 26, 7 and Plastix oddly enough.

That's funny, I went into pep boys a month ago and saw the new clay kit on the shelf and bought it when I didn't need it either. At least I have extra clay when I need it. And another ss microfiber (my favorite cloths to use on anything)

This was the first time I had seen the Smooth Surface clay kit in "any" retail store around here. I was happy.

The bad thing was this. I generally like to keep a few kits around to work up other folks car with. So earlier that day I had bought "2" of the Mothers kits. The day before I had opened of my can of Professional Mild clay to work on my Truck. Then I saw this in the store and bought it to.

When I do free details for people I do make them Buy a clay kit as I don;t use clay on paint twice so they can eat that cost. So I like to keep a few around in case the strores are sold out, then I can just sell it to them myself if need be.

Pep Boys for me is about a 30 minute drive each way so I try to keep up on the local stores inventory. But I stop a PB every time I get up that way. I usually buy them out of the Supreme Shine MFs.

I hear ya. I used to like AutoZone and the Manager is always telling me to let him know what to keep around but he doesn't follow through very well.

I wish I had a PBE store around here but when I type my zipcode in the Search Utility it comes up with nothing in my area.

That must vary from region to region or something. Around here AutoZone does a decent job. Not perfect but decent.

I agree with the SSMF thing. I have a suspicion Megs will offer that in bulk at some point.
