white with clear or figment of my imagination..

having a look at my cars paint
i notice soemthing that i wasnt aware of.

ok my car had been resprayed last year by the previous owner...

the boot had been repsrayeed, and its a flat white..
now when i compared it to the rear quarter panel, the rear looked like it had a clear in it... im not sure
the paint on the quarter looks like it had a clear film ontop of the white, it just looks mixed it

here is a pic as best i could show what im talking about...
will hopefully get a better one later


now the left is the boot.. and the right is the rear quarter

if you look closely at the bottom of the pic where the rear quarter is, you can kind of make out a flakey like white mixed into a clear...

the car is a '93 model... am i right in assuming clear coat whites were in at that time?

why dont you test if it has a clear coat by taking a terry and a paint cleaner and see if the terry changes colours
