  • Have any of you ever seen this when washing?

I notice sometimes when I am washing my car regardless of what car wash I use (Megs or not). that sometimes I see a small amount of soap on the top of the water beads on my car.

You can see a tiny cluster of small white bubbles that clearly look like soap resting directly top center on beads of water.

I hit it again with the hose thinking I did not wash it down good enough but it comes back.

AM I PUTTING TOO HIGH OF A CONCENTRATION OF SOAP TO WATER RATIO IN THE BUCKET OR AM I JUST NOT RINSING THE CAR OFF WELL ENOUGH?

    OR IS THIS NORMAL?

I would place a picture of it on the string but it is so small it is a very difficult thing to photograph due to it's size.

Does anyone know what this is or have advice?

I know the bubbles you are talking about... I don't know what causes them, I am sure someone has a great explanation. ...could it be air bubbles in the water that have been introduced by the nozzle on the hose?

I would think That would go away if you “flow” water over the car rather than “spray” it.

Unless it’s leaving a film when you dry the car I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Are you following the label for dilution ratio?

Thanks for your advice. Both of you.

I never thought about letting the water "flow" over the car. I will have to pay closer attention to that.

The dilution ratio....nah, I just throw in what I feel is right. I need to figure out how much is needed for a 5 Gallon bucket then find a cup that is that size.

I wish Meguiars would make a 5 Gallon Bucket with a cup that was the exact size you would need to fill it up with Soap.

Well, the dilution is one ounce per gallon. If you fill your bucket to the top, it would be 5 ounces of soap for the proper dilution.

I have five gallon bucket that has markers in it and I stop at the 4 gallon mark. Then I use 4 ounces of shampoo. I got the $1 measuring cups at Target and use the half-cup for the 4 ounces. I used to use 2 shots from a double shotglass but that wasn't scientific enough for me.

I never seem to need as much shampoo (of any brand) as is recommended. Weaker dilutions seem to work just fine, but that's just my experience.

I took Grover's advice today and used a half cup measuring cup. IT was perfect. Thanks for the great advice.

Question? Do you dump the soap in first? Or do you fill the bucket halfway up then dump it?

IT seems to me when I dump the soap first then fill the bucket by the time the water reaches the 4 gallon mark the suds are way over flowing. It shouldn't be that way should it?

I let some water run in first, then put some soap in while the water finishes up.

Incidently, I recently got some of the pump spouts for the detailer line products, and that works fine for measuring. I get one ounce per squirt of the Shampoo Plus, so no other measuring stuff really needed.

Not sure if they would fit on the Gold Class / Nxt bottles properly.

Yeah, I put some water in, add shampoo, then fill the rest of the way, letting the water stream mix the shampoo up a bit.
