My wifes best friend just bought a black Tahoe. She had the dealer apply a "paint sealant". They didn't charge her for it so they could make the sale (yea, right!) Anyway, she says that the car won't need to be waxed for quite a while. I didn't want to argue with her. Anybody have any info about these "sealers"? I told her I'd be happy to detail her rig for her when it needs it. Does applying polish and wax over these "sealers" remove them? Haven't seen the Tahoe in the sun so I can't say if it came with the dreaded DISO. Thanks!

My mother-in-law bought the sealant from the dealer when she bought a new car and said the car will never need to be waxed. I now refuse to detail her car because I know if it ever looks like it needs wax, it will be my fault because her beloved car and car company that are near sainthood to her would never lie to her or sell her marketing hype.
...sorry for the rant.
Actually, I don't refuse and I'm not a jerk about it. I just tell her that I'm too busy or play along and tell her with the sealant, she should be fine taking it through the carwashes.
