$50 bucks ?? Seems like a lot to spend on something like this...I've never used foaming products so I guess I can't comment on it other than that...what's the advantage of this ?..

Here's a link to a thread on Autopia concerning the use of this tool. It has pics.

Just wondering is swirl remover if old can go bad. I think I have had it for about 4 years. Wondering if I should pick up another.

Looks like a good tool to have, in my opinion.

Hopefully someone on here has used them, and can add their experience-based opinions as well.

I've never used one myself, but the guys over at the Detail City forums think foam guns are the best thing since sliced bread. Go over there and do a search and you'll find plenty of threads on foam guns many with pictures.

That's cheap for a Gilmour foam gun, and Danase gives a discount to Autopia members. I hope Bob's actually making a profit on that. He seems like a good guy.

The gun seems pricey if you compare it to cheap garden hose accessories but it's not like that. It's a nice tool, made in USA too. The critical bits are precision machined from solid brass.

I don't think it's an absolutely mandatory tool but I have one and really like it. It works fine with Gold Class, NXT and Hyper-Wash.

I use it for every wash. Used properly (it's not an idiot-proof solution; it requires a certain technique) it can basically eliminate wash-induced marring. I've gone from having to polish out light marring every spring (after tough Ohio winters) to hardly *ever* having to polish. The light "spiderweb" scratches are absolutely a thing of the past, haven't seen them on any of our vehicles for years.

The idea is to "dislodge and flush" the dirt that's on the vehicle. Most people just grind the dirt into the finish, causing the usual marring.

You can order a Gilmour brand foam, brass mixing valve, 1qt bottle, gun for $38.65 or so directly from Gilmour.
