    Hi Rowen,

Meguiar's Compounds, Paint Cleaners, Cleaner/Polishes and Pure Polishes don't need to dry before removing them. The idea is to apply them, work them against and into the finish and then remove them. Only Meguiar's Waxes need to dry out of all the paint care products in the Meguiar's Line of products.

To avoid splatter, apply your product to the face of the pad and then set the pad against the paint and don't turn the machine on until the pad is against the finish. Also, don't lift the machine/pad off the finish until you have turned the machine off.

Most people make these mistakes once, and then after cleaning up the splatter, they never make the mistake again. It's learning in process.
