I understand that the Dual Action Polisher (is that another name for a regular 'PC'?) G-100A is $231.95 according to the Vol 316 of Meguiar's catalog. It doesn't come with the set of 3 polishing pads ($24.95) but I see that it does have a Velcro backing system.
I was considering buying myself a PC (non-Meguiar's). Would this mean I'd have to buy the 6" backing plate?
I have seen the PC Random-Orbital Sander for $109 online @ http://www.lowes.com/lkn?action=prod...-7336&pad=true and I can order the SAME product (7336 or 7336SP) through Home Depot for a whopping rip-off of $144. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do understand that the 7336 and the 7336SP are the same, except for the crappy polishing pad that comes with the SP that I just will end up tossing, anyway?
I understand that Porter Cable has a limited 1 year warranty. But I do hear that Meguiar's has a lifetime warranty. Could someone please explain to me in further detail as to what 'lifetime warranty' means?
I am really perplexed at which road to take here. Meanwhile, Mike Phillips is coming up with a package that might include I don't know what. I'm not sure which is the better deal. Paying $100-some for a 1 year warranty PC, or $230 for a lifetime warranty G-100A (aka PC?)
I wish this wasn't so hard to come up with a decision!
