Greetings from Australia. Hope this isn't too long, I've been researching this board for sometime and its confusing where to start off from for mywashing regime.
My friend says not to wax the car once a month coz even the wax contains very very very mild abrasives that eat at the clear coat. Not sure if this is an issue if you wax too many times? But he gets to park his car in a garage, where I dont
My baby is outdoors 365. Im kind of paranoid about protecting my clear coat.
I've already got Softwash and Scratch-X (2 get rid of water run marks, took 3 applications per mark) and the detailer spray
The Australia Meguiars sites prescription pretty much sticks to the below for just about all the scenarios. Feels like no matter what I enter in, the same thing always come out?
Soft Wash
Scratch-X
Deep Crystal Wetlook
Detailer Spray
The american site prescripes a more wider range of products, rather than the Aussie site
I want to protect the clear coat as much as possible. Shine, well it looks already pretty good with just a simple wash, maybe its the metallic color. The paint has light spider webbs (I dont mind) and feels bumpy (this probably will come out in just soft wash since it feels smooth when wet just after going over the area)
I feel Scratch-X is probably too strong, but I probably should use a paint cleaner to get rid of surface contaminants before I seal them in with wax, etc? (Makes sense) But I dont like the idea of taking away a little bit of the clear coat since thats what cleaners do.
So what System do ppl recommend I should use? Not sure if I should go for the basic 1-2-3 deep crystal with sealant? but NXT wax sounds like its got good protection, or a more traditional wax & sealant on top. hmmm I got all the time in the world to wash my car as long as its well protected (:
Here the weather is wet for 1/3 of the year and probably have 1 month of days over or close to 30 degrees.
