just curious on how long you should wait before sanding to remove orange peel on a new ss paint job.

That all depends on what's inside the paint, as in the type of hardener and solves used. Another factor would be if the paint was baked?
Can you find out this information from the painter?
Other than that, if it's been a day or two, then you're probably good to go. They have paints out now days that you can wet sand, cut and buff in about 45 minutes after spraying.
The goal to wet-sanding, cutting and buffing a new paint job is to do it in a timely manner that enables you to buff out your sanding marks.
You see, it's easy to wet sand at any stage of the process, (put scratches in), the key is getting them out easily, which there is a sweet spot for doing this time-line wise.

yes i have 1 other time on a 74 amc javelin i had painted with an intergrated clear and waited till the 6 weeks of cure time to do. i didnt realize you could do so soon after.well i got my car painted about 3 weeks ago at maaco and would like to rid the orange peel which isnt terrible but want a clear reflection.its a integrated clear also.i used a drill and a adapter and a cut pad and polish. needless to say im sure it werent perfect but i did get ask numerous times if i had it painted again. it turned out great with a mirror reflection. will be gettin a rb this time go round and meguiars products. and will be gettin a da also.thanks
