  • Hey Mike, Any chance of and advance detailing class?

    Mike,

Will there be any chance of an advanced detailing class in the future? I attended the class on Feb. 25th, Chris was great. It was a long 2.5 hour driver, but well worth it. I saw a black hood that had gotten the Sanding/Rotory Treatment that was on display, and that's the knowledge I was looking for.

I was thinking maybe an advance class that covers:

    Wet Sanding/Color Sanding
    Rotory Buffer Use
    Rotory Compounds

I'd be willing to pay for the class, if that helps.

    Yes.

Previously we had scheduled some advanced classes but the requests from clubs for our Detailing 101 classes kind of crammed them off the schedule.

(It's hard not to comply with these types of requests )

Here's a link to our current schedule for classes for 2006, we could block out a day for an advanced class for one of these open days.

Let me look at some other factors and then reserve a day.

      Also,

What does everyone think about holding this Advanced class on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday night?

For example, a Thursday evening starting at 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

We can start earlier or go later, of lot of how we plan the time schedule would have to do with California Traffic and making it so people can adjust their schedule so they can be here.

Another idea would be to schedule 2-3 classes during a weekday, and people that want to attend this class would have to take a day off work to make the morning class, or the afternoon class, or the evening class?

Just some brainstorming... everyone is encouraged to chime in with their ideas...

We can easily have some car hood painted a day or two a head of the class.

Well for me I'm driving from Bakersfield, so it would be harder for me to drive 3-4 hours for 3 hour class.

I could take a day off and spend the whole day there, no problem.

Do you have another training room/class? I was thinking if you did, having someone else do the 101 class on Saturdays, and you teaching Advance at the same time (different class room). 2 Classes on Saturday

There's also that slim chance that people might travel from out of state just for this class too. I might try to attend, and that would mean a one day class would be better...

Or whats the chance of a traveling advanced class???

Do you all just mean a detail day thing but with more advanced material?

I really want to know when the next NXT Tech Institute (I think that's the name) classes will be. The ones with the wetsanding, machine sanding, rotary work, etc.

My brother lives nearish to Meguiar's, and I'm quite sure that my wife would be ok with us going out there for a week to visit and for me to squeeze in this class.

Any of these planned for this year?

I'd like to know this too as I'd be prepared to fly out from the UK to attend one!

I say "heck yeah - let's do some advanced classes"......then again I only live about 20 minutes away so an evening class would be a piece of cake for me.

But bring on the classes Mike!!!

Try checking with Jason “Waxman” Rose. He’s one of the instructors/organizers of NXT Tech Institute.

Like Mike-in-Orange, I’m just down the street. So whatever schedule you come up with, count me in.

I'll be in talks with Jason and Mike Pennington next week and update this thread at that time, currently, as for an open Saturday, we're looking at, June 17th, or August 26th.

What does eveyone think of June 17th?

Sounds good to me as well. Let us know if the date firms up, so I can get the time off...
