Has anyone seen or used this stuff?I have been detailing for about 17 years and i can remember the days of scrubbing with turtle wax hard shell. There name has been around the detailing industry a long time and so have i. But to say a wax is for rubber molding and trim and that you can apply it in direct hot sun is pretty far fetched i believe. Every wax i have ever used has been paste or liquied and white or off white, I've used alot of differant color waxes but never a wax that looks like tire dressing.I have delt with pro car beuty a long time and they make some ppink and blue and purple but never this.ok let me know something.1 last thing this stuff was roughly 16.00. that was a dollar a ounce pretty expensive Ha.

Interestingy enough, TW also has a long history as a family owned business.
Competition improves the breed. Turtle Wax should justifiably take pride in their products, and I'm sure that Meguiar's is always aware of their accomplishments!
TomAs the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

Well, I'll jump in and tell ya: I tried a bottle of ICE because of the ability to a) apply in direct sunlight and b) to avoid taping black plastic trim.
I used my test mule: a black metallic Suzuki Grand Vitara that was washed in December.
1. Washed with NXT wash (my favorite) The Suz was clay barred last fall and the finish was in good shape, so I skipped the clay.
2. Meg's #83 with 8006 pad for swirl removal
3. ICE with 9006 pad in sunlight (although the temp was in the mid 50's..the black was pretty warm). Didn't bother with tape on the plastic door handles or the roof rails...just applied the product.
4. Did approx 1/2 the vehicle and buffed with Meg's mf towel.
Overall, I question the durability of this product. To say it's thin liquid is an understatement: 7UP is thicker!
The shine is somewhat less than my fav sealant #21, but I'll see what the durability is.
I continue to come right back to Meguiars because of the quality level and support. But, I'm a geek for any new product and it's worth a try.
The 2 plus's are application around black plastic moulding and trim and sunlight application.

is the only reason I bought the ice, since I don't have a garage and sometimes, well, you don't have anywhere else to apply wax than in the sun. Going to break down and build a darn garage now. In my eyes there is no comparison between Meguiars and other companies straight up. Especially their customer service. But since this and other products I might add are starting to actually market that you can apply their wax in direct sunlight, I figured I'd try it. If Megs came out with something similar. I'd be eternally grateful. As I feel most others will. Not saying all the other wonderful products should be changed, but just one that could be used in the sunlight for meets, cruises, etc.Yea, I'm a red hot beaner!!

Post Ice results
Well, since my last post several days ago, I tried a wash (it's been raining in KC and the car was outside...a good test).
Disappointing results: Ice produced ZERO sheeting! And, the loss of gloss was apparent.
So, following the wash: it's back to reliable NXT for me. That's why I continue to use Meguiars products. They work, they last, and they shine!

Are you sure there is/was wax on that ?
4 days is very low, I would expect even a low end product to last much longer than that.
I use TW Super Hard Shell on my shower walls. Durability is very low when exposed to water and soap, but that's to expect when you buy a wax that costs 4$ vs for example NXT at 30$. There's no way I would use an expensive wax in there (especially since it's an appartment).
That test makes me think twice about wasting 18$ to buy an ICE bottle for my trims.
It's unbelievable that such a product which I'm sure has been through much research and testing has this kind of results.
I'll wait for some more results of course, but that's a bad start.

You guys may find this incredibly hard to belive, but I bought a bottle of Ice because it was 97 cents at Walmart. I was in the area that sells stuff, and I picked up some Insane Shine Tire Dressing in a pump Sprayer, and I saw Ice on a display for 97 cents. First thought was it looks like water, but for 97 cents it comes with an applicator and something that resembles a microfiber. I figured seems a bit low, but even if the product is junk I will have an applicator and microfiber.
When I paid for it at the register, it rang up to be $16 something. I politely explained that it was 97 cents on the shelf and said, well I thought 97 cents was a bit low that is the only reason I am buying it as I don't really even need it. I honestly would expect any wax to cost at least $5 I said. No thanks, I don't need it.
Then they started telling me how they stand behind prices...and were sending someone to check even after I explained it wasn't a problem. About 1 minute later, they confirmed pricing error and sold it to me for 97 cents. I still haven't used it nor do I need it, but I got it for 97 cents.
How is the Microfiber and applicator? I have heard the clarified Carnuba... wax stuff is just hype kind of like the colored waxes, t-eflon waxes, and a few others.
Why is t-e-f-l-o-n setup as a bad word?
