  • does QID protect?

I picked up a bottle of QID a few months ago, and loved the flat black look of my interior. I've run out and am going today to buy some more. I was wondering, does QID protect or is it similar to QD, where you just use it in between protectants? I really like the flat look of QID, and even the natural shine is too much for me. If QID doesn't protect, is there anything less glossy than natural shine?

I too like the look QID gives, there is very little UV protection on QID. I apply QID every other week and a normal protectant in between.

Here is a good post, read Mike Phillips Post: Quick Interior Detailer

It would be great if they could formulate it with some UV protection, hard to beat the look!

Thanks for the link, I guess I will just have to go with the natural shine. Someone in that forum suggested diluting it. Will that still give as much protection as before or should I just use it straight?

i don't dilute natual shine and it makes my dash look new with no shine!

make sure to give it a good shaking before you use it and apply it with a MF and wait a few mins. and then remove it with a MF

Ok, well I went out and bought some (natural shine) so I will post with my results/opinion. Thanks for the help.

Edit: I tried the natural shine, and it isn't bad. I still prefer the look of QID, but I guess when I full detail the interior I will be using natural shine to get the UV protectant. Thanks for the help and input. One thing that I did like a lot about the natural shine is the ease that it applied to the panels in my car. Thanks again
