  • Best way to dry

I am interested in an easy way to dry a car without causing any swirls. Assuming that I already washed the car very well.

-I sometimes try to use a leaf blower but that doesn't work that well.

    - Usually just use a good 100% cotton towel or two. While this isn't too hard, It does take some rubbing and my mom hates doing the extra laundry (She won't let me touch the washing machine to do it myself.) Ive also heard that towels can cause mini scratches.

    - I've heard good things about absorbers, shamoises, and waffle weave towels. Again, I've heard that waffle weaves can cause tiny scratches.

What is the best way to do it that doesn't take too much work and not too many supplies while not causing swirls.

I would get a dedicated drying towel/chamois/absorber (what ever you prefer) for your vehicle and shy away from the towels in the house.

Here is my thought on it. I prefer to use Meguiars Water Magnet Drying Towel, same thing as a Waffle Weave. I have never had any problems with scratches or marring of any kind, its my main drying method works very well for me. I prefer the Water Magnet
    over Meguiars other drying products.

As a second option the Microfiber Super Suede Drying Towel works fairly well but again I prefer the Water Magnet.

If your leaf blower doesn't do a good job then I'd say get a new leafblower. You need a good 200+MPH blower, usually electric ones are around $40 or less.

Personally I find the leaf blower to be the best and safest way to dry a car.

the absorber is amazing, but i have not tried the water magnet so i couldn't say which one is better but both should do just fine

I wouldn't use a leaf blower. You never know what kind of particles you're blowing on your car. Sorta like sand blasting.

I'd find a good towel and use it. I love the Absorber, but the other towels mentioned here have converts as well. Find something you like. And I'd dedicate it to drying only.

          I just wouldn't use a leaf blower.

I purchased a waffle-weave microfiber the other day from advanced auto parts. It is like a water magnet. 9 sq. ft. Also had good edges, so I was not concerned about the quality of this product.

When I washed my truck yesterday, I was able to dry everything but the tonneau cover and glass using this new towel, without wringing it out any. I used a cailfornia blade on the glass and tonneau cover.

I really like this type of towel, and assume that the meguiars version would be only better. It really saved me alot of time and effort when drying my truck off.

Go with the water magnet. I have used the absorber for years until about 2 months ago I got a water magnet. Last week I gave all my absorbers away, I love the water magnet I now have 3 of them

I'd vote for Water Magents.. I have a bunch now, and got the parents converted to them. Just get one for now, and see how it goes.

If you have a Big Lots you can try this. It work's pretty good. It work's even good on rim's.

i disagree. i have a 150 mph electric leaf blower and it has more than enough power to remove water.
