  • new guy wants to learn how to use a rotary

Hey guys. I'm here about all the defects that a rotary can take care of but, it's always warned to let it be handled by pros. Can anyone point me in the direction of maybe a training facility/school where I can learn(rotary use, color sanding, proper procedures, etc.). Please help me I'm a new guy with a pc and a passion

    Hi hop,

    Start here,

    Watch our how-to video here,

    How to remove paint defects

Or you can purchase it here,

    Professional Education Series Video

Then find some junker cars to buff out. Alway learn on something that nobody cares about so is you make a mistake nobody will care. The goal is to get experience as to how the tool works and to also purposefully make mistakes so you'll learn what no to do.

    If that makes sense...

As Mike says, get some junker panels and practice. Be prepared to get stressed, covered in product, and at time want to cry because it's not that easy to get hold of! Now I've got the basics I really need someone to watch what I'm doing and tell me where I'm going wrong and how I can improve - but trying to find a competent tutor it proving harder than I thought.

A few of us here in the UK messed around the other day, purposefully trying to wreck paint. So we took an old 7006 pad, #84 and cranked the buffer up to 3000rpm to see just what happens. Here are the results!

Steam created after a spritz of #34 is put on the "polished" area.

      One destroyed 7006 pad!

The other bits of the destroyed pad!
