    Quick question on #83:

After using DACP, instead of steping down to #80 could i go straight to Show Car Glaze with Da?

    Cheers

I was going to ask the same exact thing. Can anyone chime in on this one?

You certainly can. On a friends old junker that they bugged you to detail, you can go right from #83 to wax.

Keep in mind that #80 is going to leave a finer finish that #83, so depending on the results you want, you may want #80. Or #82.

So you just have to try #83 + #7 + wax, and see if it gives quality/look you are after.

Yep I agree. Before I got ahold of M80, I only had M83 and I went directly to NXT from there, and no one ever complained about the finishes. Today I've got a much larger tool set, and M80 is what I use for just about everything. M80 has some of the polishing oils already from #7 so you can skip that too. Since M80 is about half as coarse as M83, you need more passes.

Question: are you using M83 with a rotary or a DA machine?

I'll add that on some paint finishes, M83 doesn't leave the desired results.

Depending on the type of paint finish and your eye for the detail, M83 may leave very slight marks that show when you give it the final wipe. This will require the further refinement offered by M80 or another mildly abrasive product before going to your wax/sealant.
See the big picture, enjoy the details
