I wash mine after I use it. It is brand new, washed 2 times. WHat is a good way to store it in between uses? Letting it dry all the way out dosent seem right and neither does storing it in a baggy, slightly damp. ANy advice?

Rinsing it is correct and then just hang it up to dry, you really don't want to store it wet or damp. it will turn pretty nasty if you do....
I have had chamois last me 4 or 5 years out here in the Arizona desert, I dry it out everytime...
Also we had a little discussion on how to prep one......

I think it really depends on the kind of chamois you use, natural or synthetic.
For natural leather chamois (or chamii), I believe you have to store it in airtight containers, or it basicly turns into a peice of cardboard. Then when you take it out of the container, it smells like something died. Huttah, right?
Synthetic chamii are easier to care for. I basicly just hang mine over something. It gets somewhat stiff when dry, but easily regains its softness after soaking up some water.Proud owner of the finest looking car in the parking lot.
Switch to Linux. Use energy efficient lightbulbs and appliances. Keep your car well maintained and drive easy to save gas. Eat less fast food. Call your mother and tell her you love her. Try flying a kite. Read a wikipedia article daily. Use Meguiar's.

Natural leather chamois, let it dry, then just soak it to use again...
Remember the natural leather is from a cow, and if you store it wet it will rot and mildew...Arizona Corvette Enthusiasts

Re: chamois care and storage
The best place to store that chamois is in the nearest trash receptacle. Seriously. Once you try a decent microfiber drying towel you will never use a chamois again. Sorry to sound sarcastic but there is no comparison. The MF is cheaper, easier to care, and gives faster results.

wash in warm water, then hang it up to dry, but not in direct sun light unless you want it to turn into hard cardboard. And do NOT store it wet in a bag or something, otherwise it'll smell like some dead sheep with black mould spot all over.
btw, i think you cant get real goat chamois towel anymore, most r made from sheep/lamb skin, not quite as good as good quality microfiber towels IMO.

Re: chamois care and storage
I have used the absorber and it does an alright job. It is wise to sore it in an air tight container a little damp just as the directions say. Recently I have received microfiber drying towels and I absolutely love them. Easy to clean and store and cheaper. Plus they just feel good on a car.
