  • Wheelwell dressing?

    Hello everyone!

Just curious, what would you recommend for cleaning up the wheelwells? In my '05 Mustang GT, I noticed slight discoloration that needs to be covered up if possible. I thought about using tire shine but I'm not sure if that is advisable.

    Regards,
    Jon

I have an 05 GT also, I think they all have discoloration in the wells.

You can use the tire shine foam, it works nice. Pulling the wheels off makes it easier but you can do it without. Becareful though.

Make sure you remove all the loose dirt, then scrub your wheelwell down good. (pressure wash if you have one) After that just spray and wait.

I agree with WyldV6, its much eaiser to do with your wheels off, but powerwashers make it easier. Make sure you get it as clean as possible before applying dressing.

I used to use Insane Shine, but its gotten somewhat expensive, so I use Hyper Dressing at 3:1. I spray and walk away, I dont bother wiping it off because it will even out on its own, it lasts for a good while, and attracts somewhat less dirt than Insane Shine did for me.

After we clean the wheel wells we apply hyper dressing mixed 2:1

Yep, I use Hyper Dressing as well. I spray it on, and then spread it around with a foam painter's brush. I really love the Hyper Dressing; it attracts very little dirt and that is after being on dirt roads in the summer on the way to fishing lakes!

To clean I use APC, Safe D-greaser, or Super Degreaser, a dish scrub brush, and a pressure washer. For dressing I use hyper dressing 3:1. I'll spray the dressing, let dwell and re-apply a second coat. I let the dressing drip dry.

I did go through my old bottles of tire shine of various brands and used them for wheel well dressing.

When you dress the wheel wells, are you protecting the tires to prevent from any hyperdressing getting on the tire treads? I'd imagine that could be a liability?

I hate to ask this, but what kind of product is the hyper dressing? I looked at the description, but still am not sure. Is it a cleaner, protectant...?

                    Thanks!
