  • APC not available...suggestions?

I was interested in purchasing some All Purpose Cleaner since I hear it works great on door jambs and wheel wells. It is not available here in Canada and I cannot get it shipped to me from the USA since it is considered Haz/Mat.

I am just wondering what other Meguiar's product I can use to replace APC? I don't know of any other products that are similar.

I was hoping some of you may have some ideas.

    Thanks.

Well, Safe-Degreaser or Super-Degreaser would be good choices for most things.

      Hey,

      Just to chime in...

The Meguiar's degreasers are not meant to be used like an all purpose cleaner. Safe D-Greaser reduces the chance of exterior paint staining, but it is designed for wheel wells, engines, and Tires. Super D-Greaser is very strong and you should avoid getting it onto exterior paint. Even when cleaning engines, which I hate doing by the way for liability issues, I tend to place plastic over the vehicles fenders so that the product does drip down onto the paint.

Meguiar's Canada used to offer a butyl formula APC from their Detailer Series that was similar to Meguiar's USA's version of butyl APC. I have that exact product, and it works very well. Now, I do not know if it is still available or not, but I would visit your local Paint, Body and Equipment store and see what they can order for you.

I had recently contacted Meguiar's Canada for them to send me a catalogue. In my catalogue I do not see the All Purpose Cleaner. I was going to order the Safe Degreaser, however it is also considered Haz/Mat.

I will go check out some PBE stores this week and I will post back to let you know what happens.

          Thanks for the clarification.

I kind of meant 'most things' to be wheel wells and door jambs and underbody areas.. certainly not interior fabrics, etc.

I know. But unfortunately, other people that visit a manufacturers website may not realize that. So I have to make sure I clarify the situation.

I just looked at my Meguiar's Canada catalogue and I noticed that they do have All Purpose Cleaner available!!! I had not noticed it before since they show the picture of it in a white bucket as opposed to the usual plastic bottle. It seems to only come in a minimum of 5 gallon quantities which seems like a bit too much for my use. I will have to call the PBE store to find out if they can get it in a smaller quantity.
