  • Best product to remove scratches?

I'ma newbie here and have found this site to be extremely informative. I have some issues w/ my truck and would appreciate any input or info anyone could pass along. I have a 04 Nissan Titan CC and recently had to take it into the woods alond a narrow road and unfortunately aquired some minor scratches all along the sides of my truck from small limbs rubbing along the sides. They are narrow scratches that go from the front all the way to the back and are not deep enough to feel an edge when you rub you finger across them. I also have a long mark that goes from thge lower portion of my front door to the lower back side of my rear crew cab door. It is more like a "rub", it is white/grey on color that was caused my a larger stick that got flipped up as I ran over it and ran down the side of my truck. It isn't really a scratch it looks like a long white streak. That's the scenario.
I have been told by someone to use #1 Medium Cut, then # 2 Fine Cut, then come back w/ a wax all by hand. Are these the best solution? I do not have a rotary or DA.
I have seen numerous posts on here for the # 83, # 80, # 21 sequence followed by a NXT WAX. Are the 80 series w/ a DA a better solution? Sorry for the questions but I am really clueless as to what to use. My truck is still almost brand new, only 12,000 miles and 4 years left to pay off so I need to get it back beautiful again. I am sick that this has happened. I was actually trying to help someone at our hunting camp when this occured.
Thanks for any assistance or redirection to a previous post......

I also just got some Scratch X but haven't attempted to use it yet b/c of the weather being bad last few days. Should I try it or hold off on other products. I also want a DA to do all this with so what is the best PC 7336 or 7424 or are there others?

Definately go at it with ScratchX first if you are going to work by hand. It may take some time, wont be quick.. but you have four years. I am sure you'll be done by then

It is just something that needs worked in, with multiple applications. Read these links, should be better then the tube instructions:

How To Remove Swirls By Hand

How to remove a defect by hand with ScratchX

The PC would definately be easier, and #83 would probably get rid of the marks, followed up by some #80.

Using the G-100 to remove swirls with the Professional Line

Just depends if you want to go at it by hand right now, or order your machine and wait till then.

      thanks

Thanks for info MURR...I appreciate it. I have pretty much decided to get the G100. I'm just looking for a deal. I haven't priced them yet. I will be doing that after I post this. The info you passed on was great and I'll be getting my truck hooked up soon enough. I'll be trying the Scratch X tomorrow if the weather holds out and will place an order soon. Thanks again
