  • #80...how often?

    Greetings,

I hope you're all doing well. I had a question regarding #80 since people seem to really love it and I've seen from the various posts how effective it can be. So far I've used #9 for some minor paint correction and I really like it. I always follow the Meguiar's guidelines of "using the least aggresive product to get the job done." However, I was wondering how often I can use products such as #80 or #9 without having to worry about removing too much paint. I have not tried #80 yet, however I plan on using it in the spring to prep my car and my dad's car for the summer.

I just want to be safe rather than sorry.

    Thanks.

    Hey,

I would not hesitate to use the #9 once a month or #80 once every 2 months. Both are relatively mild compared to heavy compounds.

      Tim,

I didn't think I could use it safely that often.

I was thinking of maybe using either #80 or #9 once every 4 to 6 months so I guess I don't have to worry.

      Thanks for the help.

Keep in mind, good washing/drying techniques will cut down on swirling, and that will also reduce how often you need to use a more agressive product.
