Re: Dealing with severley oxidised single-stage paint

    Hi BenP,

I see that this post is over a couple years old, but I was hoping you had some more pictures to post of your process and outcomes.

In the near future, I will also be working to remove some oxidation off of the thin original paint on my 1980 Volvo 244DL and was hoping to learn from your experience.

I was also wondering if there was a direct link to a thread about using Meg's #7 to hydrate the paint/enrich the surface (for paint with oxidation)?

    Thanks,
    volvie!

Just get a bottle of #7 and cut up a terry cloth to get a piece about 4 to 5 inches square and the then rub the paint out with this using the product very wet. Work a small section at at time. After working the #7 into the paint really well, like rubbing skin lotion into dry skin, wipe off and move to the next section.

If you want to remove oxidation at the same time use M80 Speed Glaze instead of the #7

Yeah, too bad the OP didn't finish the thread. I would have liked to have seen what he did and how it turned out.
