  • QD Newbie and Question

I havent been a big fan of QD's. I tried them in the past and ended up getting steaks. So recently I tried them again, with a little better success. The bottle says dont let the product dry, what is the time limit once you spray it on your car, do you have to kill yourself to wipe it off before it dries, also, is it good to use it everytime you wash your car. If you use it after you wax your car, does it take away the protection abilities of your wax/polish. I'm also assuming that all QD's are not created equal.

    Hey.

When using a QD, I found it best to gently mist the surface with a sweeping motion. Wipe the product gently over the surface and then immediately, turn the MF towel over and remove the product. You also must limit the size of the application area, to approx. 2'x2' at one time. Once the towel becomes saturated, switch to another clean, dry MF towel.

My favorite QD's is Meguiar's Speed Detailer, or Last Touch.

Sometimes I would spray, wait a second or two to let the spray soak whatever I was trying to remove, then wipe away. Other times, it was spray then immediately wipe.

Now, for removing bird droppings, I usually spray, let sit for a few seconds, spray more, then gently wipe.

Really, its all about developing technique. The more you use it, the better you will get.
