  • Wash before use

I have noticed that on the back of some wash/drying products (terry towels, washmit) that you have to machine was them beofre use, why and do i have to, also if it is necesary to do so what would be best to use. (remember i live in australia so produsts may not be available here)

Also a side question, im guessin that you all know that asutralia has the harshest summers in the world and were now in the middle of a heat wave, my question is this, alot of produsts like polishes and waxes say that you have to be in a cool area and the car must be cool before aplying, yeah ok so how am i suposed to do that when its constantly above 30degrees C

You can wash and wax the car in the early morning or early evening. If you have access to a garage that will keep the sun off the paint.

Some towels and fabrics are treated with a sizing during manufacture.

It's always good policy to wash a new towel before use to get out whatever might be in it.

I only wash my Meguiar's microfiber towels together and with nothing else so they don't pick up lint. I also use a liquid detergent rather than a powder so I don't have to worry about not all of the powder disolving and possibly getting embedded in the towel, only to scratch later when used.

Well, if you can't get the car cool, at least park it in the shade. Perhaps if you can wash it in the wee hours of the dawn when the car has been in the shade overnight. That's probably the coolest it will be. As for why...so the product doesn't evaporate before you even have a chance to wipe it once.
      It's not just chocolate, it's a lifestyle.

Well, I have noticed with Meguiars towels that they tend to be packaged open. So the first thing I think of is any dirt, etc picked up from the usualy dirty auto parts stores.

As far as products, early morning is going to be the best time for you to work. Also, try and work in smaller areas than nomal. For instance, If you would polish your whole roof before removing, now, you may only do a quarter before removing the polish.

The thing is i only get to days off a week and i wont atleast one of them to relax and do nothing before my strees levels climb up again at work, so in that retrospect i want to detail my car in the one day (and for once not freackin rain and ruin it )

Well, you are welcome to try any time of the day. A Meguiars product isnt going to destroy your paint if it dries too quick, but your results wont be great.

Is there any way you can at least get in the shade?
